I loved this novella! It was adorable seeing Galen when he was little and it was so endearing to see how the bond between Galen and Rachel began. Definitely give this a shot if you are unsure of the series but want to get a feel for the characters. Rachel is absolutely hilarious in her no nonsense way, I loved learning more about her.

Recommended For: Readers interested in “dipping their toes” (hehe) into this series, or fans of the series who want more from (or like me, enjoy them more) the secondary characters.
This story was very sweet, I enjoyed seeing a different side of Grom before he became the so serious character that we see during Of Poseidon. If this novella did one thing, it made me want to read more about the secondary characters. If you have read my other reviews on this series, you will know that upon finishing, I still wanted less of the main characters and more from the secondary. I suppose the novella served its purpose in making me want to read the novels, but the novels did not deliver in the way I had hoped.

I have to be honest with you, though this was a quick read it was not extremely enjoyable. I liked the first two books in the series enough to want to see how it all ended but after finishing Of Neptune it was just made further apparent that it could have ended after book 2. I just….I don’t like Emma. I hoped she would grow on me, but alas, she did not. There was also a love triangle and to be frank, I can’t help but think “but why??” In terms of the whole novel..as in, things were started in this novel that should have been touched upon before and then they were cleaned up rather neatly in a way I didn’t love. The ending was sweet, but like the last two novels, I wanted more from the secondary characters and less from the main female. That’s not a good sign, right? Also? If I have to see the phrase “ohmysweetgoodness” ONE MORE TIME!!! Bottom line: the series is quick and enjoyable enough that it isn’t a total waste to check it out, but if you are looking for anything deeper, pass on this series.
