The Midnight Visitor
You know how when we think of old, big or abandoned houses we tend to think of creepy ghosts lurking round? Maybe because they seem to have too much history, but whenever I encounter one of these I always get the feeling that if I stare too long at the darkened window I will see someone looking back. But in new modern places we tend to feel safe, at least from ghosts and such nightly creatures.
The problem is we forget that where those places are built used to be something else, and we could still find some things lurking around at nights. This is what happened to my friend at the beginning of the year.
He had recently moved with his family to this new house in a condominium. The locality where he lives used to be part of the countryside where you would find big old farm houses. They have been sold over the years and transformed into 5 or 6 house condominium like my friend’s.
He didn’t like the place since day one but he couldn’t complain much. Until one night. He was alone at the house with his dad, because they both had to work the other day while the rest of the family was on vacation at the beach. He woke up in the middle of the night for no particular reason. He sat on his bed, rubbed his face, only to find a woman staring back at him from the door frame.
He froze. He describes the woman as a brunette with soft features, who must have been in her late 20’s early 30’s. It is remarkable the precision with which he can describe her actually. He claims that they stared at each other for what felt like an hour, until the woman finally disappeared through the wall.
He is not the kind of guy to tell this stuff just to have a laugh, nor does he tend to lie. That’s why all of his friends and family believed him.
Needless to say he was terrified to have another midnight visit of this woman, but he hasn’t seen her again. He’s heard sounds and noises, mostly when he’s alone at the house.
There’s always the possibility she will re-appear, but for now, we have no clue who this woman is, why she was there or what she was looking for.
*Note: this is a true story; it did in fact happen to a friend of mine.
Ah! I love it! I wonder who she was, and if she needed something from him! Thank you so much, Valeria! Readers, make sure you check out what Amy and Brittany have on their blogs today to celebrate Fortnight of Fright!!
Thank you for having me Alyssa! It was a delight! I also do wonder what she wanted, sometimes I wish I could lead an investigation of the sorts.
