Fortnight of Fright: Paranormal Encounters by Hazel (Haze in a Happy Daze)

FoF2014

Happy Halloween! One of my favorite days of the year, and as you are reading this I am probably at work dressed up as Hook a la Dustin Hoffman (Don’t worry, pictures will follow!) Anyway, I have something very fun for you on the blog today – Hazel from Haze in a Happy Daze has decided to share one of her many paranormal encounters. Take it away, Hazel!

I’ve been interested in the spiritual and the paranormal ever since I was very young, even though I’m not quite sure what sparked my interest. I’m not one of those naturally psychically-gifted kids and I don’t remember my first ever paranormal encounter, but I devoured books even as a child and I do remember loving to read ghost stories, so I’m guessing that reading those ghost stories must have been the match that lit my paranormal candle.

As I mentioned, I don’t remember my first paranormal encounter, but I do have a few noteworthy encounters that I would love to share. One of the best stories I have, and my fondest memory, is about my first spirit guide. Many people have misconceptions that being spiritual and having encounters with any spirit is something that you have to take seriously. I agree to a certain extent; you should have a healthy respect for spirits and the paranormal, but that really doesn’t mean that you have to speak in hushed tones or that you can’t joke or laugh with them. My spirit guide was a cheerful and funny personality, and we had lots of fun conversations together.

Now here’s the thing, not every spirit have your best interest at heart, and you shouldn’t contact them if you don’t know what you’re doing. I make it a point to only work with higher beings, and only the ones I know and trust. If I work with someone new, it’s because one of my trusted spirit guides have introduced me to the new being.

My first spirit guide was a beautiful person. I was in high school then, and we were introduced via automatic writing by a close friend who had known him when he was alive. He passed away in a motorcycle accident about 3 years before I ever talked to him, and the first conversation we had was really profound. He told us about his death experience, which was really eye-opening for my friend and me, but a story for another time…

I trusted him because he gave us a lot of great advice and information that always turned out to be accurate, but the best and funniest story is the one I’m going to tell you. It was in my last year of high school and I had just started a new relationship with my then boyfriend. My friend and I decided to skip school one day to hang out at her house, and we ended up automatic writing with my spirit guide again (I didn’t actually start calling him my spirit guide until much later but I’m using the term now to avoid confusion).

As a teenage girl in a new relationship, I was all excited about my new boyfriend, so I asked him to tell me something about my boyfriend that I didn’t know. I never asked for specifics, it could’ve been anything at all, but my spirit guide chose to tell me about the color of the underwear my boyfriend was wearing.

We were all in hysterics, of course, laughing and teasing each other, but he managed to tell me very clearly that my boyfriend was at that exact moment, wearing a red underwear with black and white stripes at the sides. He even told me the brand name of the underwear!

Well, I had to wait until school was out, but I called my boyfriend as soon as I knew he’d be home and I asked, very hesitantly, “I know this might sound like a funny question, and I’ll explain it later, but…. do you happen to have a red underwear?”

My boyfriend replied, also hesitantly, “Um, yes… I’m actually wearing it now. Why?”

“Does it have black and white stripes at the sides?”

He was curious now, “Yes… Why?”

“Is it (brand name)?”

“Yes, yes. How do you know?”

I’ve always been open about my spiritual and paranormal tendencies and it’s actually pretty common and accepted in my culture, so I wasn’t afraid of sharing the story of what my spirit guide told me, and my boyfriend took it pretty well. Apparently, his father was a medium, so he wasn’t a stranger to paranormal encounters, which was really lucky for me!

I’ve since continued to develop my spiritual abilities and have started communicating with other spirit guides for my own spiritual growth and to help others with their spiritual journey as well. There are lots more stories of spiritual and paranormal encounters I could share, but this is one of my favorites because not only was my spirit guide accurate with the underwear information, but it also shows what a wonderful and funny personality he had, and the fun and loving relationship we had. He stopped communicating  with me some years ago, and I’ve been told by my other spirit guides that he had moved on to a new life, but I will always love and remember him fondly.

What an awesome (and hilarious) story, Hazel! I love that you have so much insight into spirituality, it is something that has always fascinated me! Thanks for sharing!
